Softball: Tinley Park Wins Sectional Title, Moves on to Super-Sectional
The Titans bring out the bats, defeating LaSalle-Peru, 7-2, in the Coal City sectional championship.
Pitching has been the key to victory for Tinley Park High School's softball team in the postseason. The Titans have been stingy with runs, shutting out their opponents in their past two games.
But in Saturday's sectional championship game against LaSalle-Peru, Tinley Park brought out the bats.
The Titans beat LaSalle-Peru, 7-2, winning the Coal City sectional and advancing to the super-sectional at Illinois State University in Normal. Tinley Park next plays at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, against the winner of the Metamora-Notre Dame sectional championship, which is Monday, June 3.
