Black Wednesday: What Bars Have Specials for Thanksgiving Eve? (Updated)

The day before Thanksgiving—called Black Wednesday in some circles—has become one of the busiest days for bars and taverns. It's a time when people meet up with friends for a drink or two before having to deal with family.

Watering holes in Oak Fores, Orland Park and Tinley Park are taking advantage of the time, offering drink and food specials.

Oak Forest

Blarney Stone Pub: No cover charge, $3 and $4 pints of craft beers, $4 select glasses of wine.

Cindy's Pub: $10 six-bottle Miller product buckets, along with a special turkey and stuffing dinner.

Durbin's of Midlothian: $2 bottles of domestic beer, $3 bombs and $3 shots of Patron.

Marcotte's Bar & Grill: $10 buckets of domestic beer, $2 turkey bombs, $5 beef sandwiches, trivia and a raffle for $100.

Oak Forest Bowl: $13 domestic and $17 imported beers bucket specials.

Oliver's Bar and Grill: $3.50 tall drafts, $4.50 tall imported bottles and shot specials.

Post Game Pub: $12 domestic and $14 import bucket specials.

Orland Park

Buffalo Wild Wings: $1 breaded tenders.

Houlihan's: Half-priced house cocktails, Long Island Ice Tea and draft beers.

Tinley Park

Bailey's Bar and Grill: $10 buckets of five domestic beers and $3 UV bombs. Also, the bar has $3 pork chop sandwiches and $1.50 hot dogs.

Durbin's of Tinley Park: The bar will have a turkey raffle every hour from 4 p.m. to midnight. Plus, half-price martinis and wine, and $3 domestic beer half-pitchers.

Intimo Martinis Lounge: Wine Wednesday means all house wines are $3.

JW Hollstein Saloon: A DJ will be playing at 10 p.m.

Old Tinley Pub & Eatery: $5.50 pitchers. The bar will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Teehan's Irish Tavern: $1.50 on domestic beers, $2.50 on domestic bottles and deals on shots. The tavern will open around 6 or 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Tribes Alehouse: Half off bottle of wines. Tribes also will open at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving.
