Business Comings & Goings: Ticketmaster Now Available at Wal-Mart

Fans of shows, concerts and sporting events can now buy their tickets at the at 9245 W. 159th St. in Orland Hills or any of 77 Walmarts in the Chicago area that are now offering tickets to Ticketmaster events.

Customers can use touch screens in the store’s electronics department to buy Ticketmaster tickets. Once the desired event is selected, a Walmart employee helps complete the transaction and immediately prints the tickets.

"By integrating ticketing into Walmart stores, we are able to offer fans this very convenient way to learn about upcoming events, purchase and take home tickets without leaving their neighborhood," said Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard in a release. "In addition, Ticketmaster will continue to work closely with our clients to create exclusive high value offers for Walmart customers."

The service also is available at Walmarts in Bedford Park, Bolingbrook, Bourbonnais, Bridgeview, Country Club Hills, Crestwood, Evergreen Park, Glenwood, Joliet, Lansing, Lockport, Matteson, Naperville, Plainfield, Romeoville and Shorewood.

Hhgregg to Open Orland Store

Indianapolis-based appliance and electronics retailer hhgregg expects this week to soft open its Orland Park store in the former Sports Authority at 1385 Orland Park Place Dr. in Orland Park. The store is the largest of 14 stores the retailer will officially open on Sept. 15 when it establishes itself in the Chicago market. Ads for the chain started appearing last week on Chicago TV channels.

Tinley-Frankfort Rotary Club is Growing

The Tinley Park-Frankfort Rotary Club, which was established in 1975, recently received an award for growing its membership to almost two dozen members.

“We are extremely honored to have won third place for membership growth,” said immediate past president Paul Lyons. “It is a testament to the dedication of our club members that we have achieved this great award.”

Its members, who meet on Thursdays at 7:15 a.m. at , 19900 S. Harlem Ave. in Frankfort Square, include professional and community leaders from both Tinley Park and Frankfort.

The Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce puts the spotlight on “Media and News … the Challenges and Successes” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 12 at its Regional Consensus Luncheon.
