Business Comings & Goings: Tinley Cardinal Fitness Getting New Name, New Address

A look at new businesses coming to town and a fond farewell to those that have, for whatever reason, called it quits.

Cardinal Fitness centers have been renamed Charter Fitness, and the gym at 17200 S. Oak Park Ave. in Tinley Park will be moving soon to new digs in the village, at 16010 S. Harlem Ave.

The conversion from Cardinal Fitness to Charter Fitness began Sept. 1 and is happening at all 10 Southland locations.

The company said the changeover will not affect memberships, but members will be offered a wider range of services, such as personal trainers.
