This week's openings feature a variety of positions, including a police records supervisor, a college-level career adviser, an insurance agent, a manager trainee for a school bus company and more.

WANTED: Career adviser
Devry University (Tinley Park): The technical college has an opening for someone to advise students about career issues and strategies; job search methods; résumé creation and other employment matters. Candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree and one to three years of combined career advising and employer relations experience (educational institute preferred). WANTED: Records supervisor
Tinley Park Police Department: The village agency needs to fill a full-time, civilian position responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising the police department's Records Division. The position requires detailed knowledge of applicable state, federal and local ordinances, laws, rules and regulations, including Freedom of Information Act and departmental procedures. Candidates must live in the village within a year of employment, and the starting salary is $60,241, plus benefit. Candidates must fill out a village Application of Employment, which can be picked up at Village Hall or online at the village's website. OfficeTeam (Tinley Park): The staffing service is looking for a file clerk to help the human resources department of a Tinley Park client. Duties include general clerical work that involves a lot of filing and alphabetizing. Candidates should have excellent organizational skills and at least two years of prior office experience. WANTED: Insurance agent-sales manager
Farmers Insurance—District Office of Gary Pirc (Tinley Park): The agency is looking for an agent with strong organizational and time-management skills, as well as experience in sales, marketing and/or customer service. Other preferences include: college experience, good credit history and a good track record in a previous field or line of employment. WANTED: Manager trainee
Cook-Illinois Corporation (Oak Forest): A large, family-owned school bus company is looking to develop and train a new manager. Candidates should have some leadership experience, five years of school bus-related experience, dispatching experience, a basic financial data understanding and the ability to obtain and keep a commercial driver's license and school bus permit. The company prefers candidates to have a college degree, knowledge of Versatran/Edulog and at least five years of experience driving a school bus.
