Local Jobs: Who's Hiring in Tinley Park and Oak Forest? (Oct. 2)

The Village of Tinley Park and the Tinley Park-Park District have a variety of part-time positions they need filled. Plus, openings for a tax accountant and marketing representative.

Finding a job can be a tough task. Putting together a résumé, hitting the streets looking for “Help Wanted” signs and making the best impression on potential employers can be a tall order for anyone. WANTED: Freedom of Information Act Coordinator
Village of Tinley Park: The Village Clerk's office is looking for someone to review and process Freedom of Information Act requests. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate and/or attended one to two years of law school. Candidates also should have knowledge of FOIA and the Open Meetings Act. Experience working in a previous FOIA role or the public sector is preferred. The job requires 20 to 25 hours a week, between 1 and 5 p.m. weekdays. Candidates must submit a cover letter detailing experience and interest, a résumé and a village employment application for consideration. Village employment applications can be picked up at Village Hall or downloaded from the village website. Applications can be dropped off or mailed to Village Hall (c/o Human Resources Department) or emailed to humanresources@tinleypark.org. The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. WANTED: Part-time custodian
Tinley Park-Park District: The district has a part-time opening for a custodian at the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center. The job requires 12 to 20 hours per week between 9:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. weekdays and some weekends. The pay is $12 an hour. Applications should be submitted to Karol Komar, the facility manager, at the rec center or by email at karol.komar@tinleyparkdistrict.org. The deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 9. WANTED: Part-time fitness attendant
Tinley Park-Park District: The district's new Tinley Fitness facility, 8125 W. 171st St., needs attendants for morning, evening and weekend shifts. Candidates must have fitness experience and/or education, and current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. WANTED: Sales/marketing/customer service representative
Retinal Sciences LLC (Oak Forest): The pharmaceutical/nutraceutical company is looking for someone to promote the business' brand by creating and implementing a marketing strategy. Candidates should have one to two years of experience or training in marketing or sales, but the company is willing to make exceptions for the right person. WANTED: Tax accountant
Robert Half Finance and Accounting U.S. (Oak Forest): The financial industry recruiter is seeking a tax accountant for a mid-size public accounting firm in Oak Forest. Candidates must have at least two years of recent tax experience from a public accounting firm, a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance, and an MST and/or CPA.
