Mokena Woman Named New Rotary President

Margaret Semmer, the vice chancellor for academic affairs for Ivy Tech in Indiana, became the new president of the Tinley Park-Frankfort Rotary Club last month.

A college vice chancellor and mother from Mokena is the new president of the —Frankfort Rotary Club.

Margaret Semmer was installed in her new role Thursday, July 12, a Rotary press release stated. She takes over for Karen Wegrzyn, who finished her third, one-year term last month, the release said.

Semmer, who is a Mokena resident, is the vice chancellor of academic affairs at Ivy Tech Community in Indiana. She also has two kids attending .

“I’m looking forward to continuing the efforts of the Tinley Park-Frankfort Rotary to offer scholarships to local high school students while expanding our work to serve the community,” Semmer said in the release.
