New Irish-American Restaurant to Open in Late June

Ariel's Bar and Restaurant, located west of Harlem Avenue and 183rd Street, will offer a variety of traditional Irish dishes as well as contemporary cuisine. Find out what else will be on the menu.

A new Irish-American eatery, just west of Harlem Avenue and 183rd Street, will open in late June, according to a release from the owners.

Ariel’s Bar & Restaurant, 18401 North Creek Dr., will serve a mix of Irish and contemporary cuisine, as well as offer a selection Irish whiskeys and craft beers, the release stated.

Here are some other quick facts about the new restaurant, according to the owners, PSS Ventures LLC:

  • The chef is Richard Jones, who is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, with more than 25 years of restaurant.
  • Menu items will include traditional Irish dishes, such as shepherd’s pie, as well as other cuisine, such as Moroccan Barbecue Salmon and a Coconut Encrusted Tilapia.
  • The dining room will seat 80, and the bar will seat more than 50 customers. There will be an outdoor patio with 40 seats, and private dining and event areas with 100 seats.

The release also emphasized the restaurant's proximity to the Tinley Park Convention Center and the surrounding hotels as a positive business factor.

Plans for Ariel's have been in the works since July 2011, when the owners petitioned the Village of Tinley Park for site approval and variances at the North Creek Drive location.
