The People Have Spoken and the Most-Loved Pizza in the Southland is ...

You've voted, you've commented, you've left reviews and you've tasted. The judges have spoken and we've settled for all time the question of who bakes the Most-Loved Pizza in the Southland.

The people have spoken—and tasted—and the results we've all been waiting for are in.

After two fierce rounds in the Patch Pizza Playoffs, the most-loved pizza in the Southland has emerged. We started with eight brackets of competitors. The No. 1 vote-getter in each bracket moved to the championship round and the finalists were judged on three factors—the number of votes, positive reviews on each restaurant's Patch listing and the all-important blind taste test.

Tasters from the Patch audience last Thursday were critical and took their jobs seriously. They applauded the sauteed veggies in pies from Mama and Me in Homewood, the tasty sausage from Salina's Pizza in Tinley Park, flavorful sauce from Al's Pizzeria in Palos Heights and sweet sauce from Palermo's in Frankfort.
