Work got you down? Can't wait until the weekend? You probably need a giant margarita. Thursday night is half-price margarita night at Fajitas, a Mexican restaurant with locations in Frankfort and Tinley Park

The 32-ouncer is $7.99. There's even one that's twice a big — almost a gallon — served in a glass you can wear as a helmet. And you probably will try to wear it on your head if you drink the entire thing by yourself.

About 125 people who work at St. James Hospital campuses in Chicago Heights and Olympia Fields probably could have used gallon-sized margaritas earlier this week after learning their jobs were eliminated.

The Franciscan Alliance operations cited Obamacare as a reason for a 6 percent reduction in workforce. Chicago Heights Patch was the first to report on the downsizing this week.

Hospital officials say the Affordable Care Act is forcing a shift from in-patient hospital admissions to outpatient care. Two Franciscan Express Care urgent care clinics recently opened in Frankfort and Chicago Heights are designed as alternatives to the now-reduced St. James emergency departments.

Kmart Liquidation Sale in Homewood Sept. 29

The Super Kmart in Homewood, 17550 Halsted St., will close by the middle of December. A liquidation sale begins on Sept. 29. The 185 Kmart employees who work at the store will have the opportunity to apply for jobs at other Kmarts in the region, according to company officials.

Gas Prices Prompt Mayor to Call for Another Boycott

Mayor Tim Baldermann is urging New Lenox residents to avoid filling their gas tanks at stations in New Lenox, pointing out that prices in nearby towns are at least 20 cents a gallon cheaper, sometimes more.
