We're happy to report that a major portion of the work for the new Challengers Field has been completed. Our goal was to have an asphalt base down this past fall and that was accomplished. In the early Spring, the plan is to lay down a rubber safety surface in time for Opening Day in May 2014.
As you might imagine, the cost of a project of this size is enormous. But thanks to people in the construction business who have blessed us with in kind donations of their time, equipment and labor and some very generous donations of others in the business community, we’re doing pretty good but we still have a way to go.
