On Tuesday, May 14th, the Board of Education voted unanimously to extend its contract with Illinois Central School Bus for an additional year. 

School District 146 has used Illinois Central for the past three years for both regular and special education transportation.

Mr. Jeff Charleston, Director of Business Services at D146, said, “We have been pleased with the service provided by Illinois Central this past year.  We have had no major issues, so I feel that the recommendation to renew our contract is the right move. We have had competitive pricing from Illinois Central over the life of this contract,” said Mr. Charleston, “and the renewal rate keeps us in line with other area districts.”

The current contract between D146 and Illinois Central School Bus expires next month.
