D146's Fierke School's Family Reading Night

Fierke's Family Reading Night A Huge Success!!

Fun! Reading!  Fun!  Open Mike! Fun!  Raffles!  Fun!  Art Projects!  Fun!  Spider Challenge Obstacle Course!  Fun! SO MUCH FUN!  Did I get my point across?  Fierke Family Reading Night went off without a hitch.  Mr. French was, as always, there with a smile to greet all families as they arrived, and left at the end of the evening.

Families packed Fierke for this 90 minute event.  Mrs. Scanlon, who was in charge of the raffle prizes was so very happy at the turnout. Mrs. Ferrucci, who was in charge of Open Mike where the kids could read to the audience from a podium, was having a great time with her duties, too!  Mrs. Ankarlo got the messy project, with paint in the kindergarten room, but she was all smiles as the kids were having a blast!  Mrs. Charpenel’s Spider Challenge was wildly popular.  The kids were having a great time, and probably wished that the gym always had that set up.

The night, overall, was a huge success. Parents were mingling and talking amongst themselves, and then smiling and clapping for children during Open Mike in the Media Center.  It had such a “family vibe” the whole night.  When you were there, you felt welcomed.  And when the night was over, the kids did not want to leave.  (Even the big kids.) Thanks, Mr. French and the staff at Fierke School, it was a job well-done.  And just another Family Reading Night success story for School District 146!
