District 146 Board of Education Approves 2013-14 Calendar

D146 Board of Education Approves 2013-2014 School Calendar

District 146 BOE members unanimously approved the District 2013-14 calendar at the meeting held, Tuesday, March 12th.  The calendar must be approved each year by the BOE in order for it to take effect.

For district students school will begin on Monday, August 26, 2013, and end on Thursday, June 5, 2014.  Normal school hours remain unchanged with the exception of the first and final days.  The hours on these two (2) days will be elementary:  8:40am – 1:40pm, and CMS – 7:45am – 12:45pm. The change in the hours for these two (2) days follows the new State of Illinois law requiring five (5) hours of attendance to open and close a school year.

In November, there will be two days of non-attendance to accommodate the Parent/Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th. Also, requests were met to extend the P/T Conference days so that both days will allow for scheduling from 1-8pm.
