School District 146’s Kruse Education Center Earns Academic Excellence Award

Kruse Education Center, part of the School DIstrict 146, receives Academic Excellence Award for 2nd year!

Principal Carey Radde, staff and students at Kruse Education Center, part of the School District 146, have been honored by ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) for outstanding school performance.  The school was just granted the 2012 Academic Excellence Award for the 2nd year in a row. 

The Academic Excellence Award is granted annually by ISBE, in conjunction with Northern Illinois University, as a way to formally recognize exemplary academic accomplishments of Illinois public schools that meet the criteria. The award is presented to those schools:

  1. that gave met AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) in 2011 and 2012, as required by the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
  2. whereas 90% of students have met or exceeded Illinois state standards in both reading and mathematics for the past three (3) straight years.

This year 454 public schools within Illinois earned this recognition.

Dr. Jeff Stawick, Superintendent for CCSD146, credits the highly dedicated staff, and the extremely supportive community. “I was so very pleased to hear that, once again, Kruse Education Center has received the Academic Excellence Award.  The staff and students at Kruse truly deserve this honor, as well as the parents that are so committed to excellence in education.”

Kruse Education Center is a Pre K-5 school located in Orland Park, IL, with an enrollment of nearly 350 students. It was built in 1972 and renovated in 2002.
