School District 146 Remembers Mrs. Pam Lagomarcino

School District 146’s Central Middle School is remembering one of their staff members. Pam Lagomarcino passed away in April, and is being remembered with great fondness by those that knew her best. Ms. Lagomarcino was hired by D146 in 1998 as a Learning Behavior Specialist working with students at Sandidge School. Eventually she transferred buildings working at Central Middle School until her retirement in June 2013.

Karen Vandewiel, Assistant Principal of Central Middle School said, “Pam was always an advocate for her students. She was always there for them. Pam was also one of those people with a positive outlook on life. She also was always smiling. D146 was so saddened to learn of her passing. She was a gem.”

Shelby Cahill, a paraprofessional at Central Middle School, said this about her longtime friend, “I met Pam while working at Central. Pam was a great person. She was one of those people that always went above and beyond for her students and her friends. Oh, and that laugh. It was so distinct. Whenever she laughed you could hear it, and recognize it, from down the hall. She loved life! That was Pam. She was always willing to help out and have fun. One other amazing quality about her was that Pam was a great shoulder to lean on. She was always there for anyone that needed support. She was always there to listen and just be there for you. I have so many wonderful memories of my time with my dear friend. I will cherish these memories forever. She will be missed.”
