Twister Pride Shows At Central Middle School

Principal Randy Fortin took over the reins at CMS in July 2012 and since then the school has been going through some exciting changes.

“Twister pride is everywhere. I felt it the moment I walked into Central,” said Mr. Randy Fortin, school principal.  “It’s time that we shout it to the community.” And shout it what the middle school is planning to do.

Mr. Fortin has scheduled the building exterior for a “slight makeover”, as he calls it.  He has commissioned artist Kevin Hay to create a bold piece of artwork that makes a statement of pride about how the Twisters feel about their school.

The cartoon-like mascot will be emblazoned on the north side wall and depict a tornado that has blasted through the brick and mortar building. The commissioned image will stay true to the current mascot depiction of a tornado.

“It will not just reflect our school pride, but our power as CMS Twisters.  It will definitely make a statement, and those that see it will most definitely remember it,” Mr. Fortin said.

The artwork is set to begin on Monday, May 20th and expected to be completed by the end of June.
