Will County Board News

This will be one of many blogs about Will County Board news, including my report on the County's monthly board meetings that impact the residents of District No. 2, which includes portions of Tinley Park, Frankfort Square, the Villages of Frankfort and Manhattan, as well as Green Garden Township.  Please feel free to comment on my posts.

December 20, 2012 County Board Meeting Results:

We heard from the recently appointed Chief Judge for Will County, RichardSchoenstedt.  The Honorable Schoenstedt came before the Board to introduce himself to new members and to encourage all members to work with the judiciary to advance the interests of the 700,000 residents of Will County.

There was an honorary proclamation recognizing the 20th Anniversay of Will County's 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System.  Currently the 9-1-1 emergency system handles approximately 1000 calls daily.

The board approved several resolutions approved by the Finance Committee, including a resolution increasing the Appropriations in the Foreclosure Mediation Account which was implemented to assist lenders and homeowners in trying to reach agreements to resolve loan delinquencies.

The board also approved a series of resolutions approved by the Public Works Committee for professional services agreements in furtherance of Will County's "Build Will" program.  Money appropriated to pay for these services are generated through the county's portion of the RTA Tax Funds.

Lastly, the board leadership and County Executive wished everyone in Will County Happy Holidays and to have a safe and Happy New Year.

The Will County Board will next meet on January 17, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Will County Board Building, 302 N. Chicago, Joliet, Illinois.
