Bring on the Frigid Temps — Oh, And More Snow

A winter storm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for a six-county area, including Cook—but not Will—County. It begins early Friday and is expected to last into the evening.

Winter weather has officially arrived, bringing with it plunging temperatures Thursday and up to 5 inches of snow on Friday.

Although there's just a 20 percent chance of snow before noon in today, temps are expected to dip below 10 degrees by 4 p.m., with wind chills as low -5, according to the National Weather Service. Friday comes with a 90 percent chance of snow with accumulation expected to be between 3 and 5 inches.

A winter storm watch is in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening in a six-county area, including Cook. Will County is not mentioned in the watch.
