ComEd: More Than 1,500 Customers Without Power

Residents and businesses in the area around 171st Street and Harlem Avenue are without electricity, ComEd reports.

More than 1,500 customers in the area around 171st Street and Harlem Avenue are without power, according to ComEd's website.

The cause of the outage, which has 1,628 customers without electricity, is under investigation, according to the site, but residents in the area have reported seeing a sparking, downed powerline. The traffic light at 171st Street and Harlem Avenue is out, and Jewel-Osco on Harlem is without power, Palos Patch editor Nick Swedberg reports.

ComEd estimates that power will be restored by 10:45 p.m.
