YOU ARE INVITED

Have you ever wished you could give someone a gift, such as a piece of jewelry or clothing, that would be totally unique – instead of something mass produced and sold in a department store?  Have you ever wished you could hang something handcrafted on your tree or hung something artistic on your wall that is one-of-a-kind?  Have you ever wished to send holiday cards that none of your friends will ever receive from anyone else? Then come to Tall Grass Arts Association Gallery for your holiday shopping!

The annual holiday show, “An Artful Presence”, opens on Friday, November 16 with a reception from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The gallery and the reception are open to the public, free of charge.  Light refreshments will be served.

The holiday show features artworks by a large number of Tall Grass artists.  The works have been specially priced for holiday gift giving.  The artworks include paintings, prints, photographs and pastels.  There are three-dimensional works including wooden bowls, ceramics and glass. A large selection of necklaces, earrings and pins are available.  They range from jewelry made from blown glass to semi-precious stones.   The show includes hand-made holiday cards and decorations.

Gisele Perreault, curator of the show, commented, “Many of the works were created by Park Forest Art Fair artists.  Phil Sapienza will be showing t-shirts with his quirky, humorous drawings.  MaryAnn Tryzna will be showing holiday cards with her prize-winning artwork.  John Flynn has created letter openers, seam rippers and styluses, made especially for this exhibit, along with his pens and Ray Luckhaupt will be showing his wooden bowls.  Altogether, there will be more than 30 participating artists and a great selection.”

President of Tall Grass Arts Association, Janet Muchnik, added, “Shoppers at the Holiday Show may wish to give their friends and family a gift certificate from Tall Grass.  The recipients will then have the pleasure of selecting something from the holiday show themselves.”

“An Artful Presence” will run through January 13, 2013.  The gallery is open 11:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday (with the exception of Thanksgiving and the following day).  It is located in Downtown Park Forest, adjacent to Village Hall.

Turns out it was a minor crash, according to state police. No one was injured enough to require aRead More trip in an ambulance. Two cars were involved in the collision, which happened at about 2 p.m.

I'd also contact whichever bank has this in foreclosure. If they're the legal owners, then they'reRead More responsible. Maybe the threat of a lawsuit if someone gets sick or injured might prompt them to take action.

The problem is that nobody knows or can locate the bank who owns this property. I have contacted aRead More friend of mine whom is a realtor and there saying it's owned by HUD! Well good luck getting in touch with them!

Well I just ran into an inspector sent by the bank who entered the property and said that the coinsRead More have eaten through the ceiling of he living room! I knew it!!!

We too live in Parkside and I couldn't agree with you more! I love your sign! I have a three yearRead More old and I refuse to let him play on the last 15 feet of the driveway due to the speeding cars. Maybe a speed bump?!
dalygirl June 16, 2013 at 09:25 am
We've looked into a speed bump too. Make yourself a sign, call the Tinley Police and ask for theRead More electronic monitoring sign, call the village and complain, and be pro-active. Someone from the village saw my sign and has informed me that the village will be putting up speed limit signs and caution - kids playing signs this week. Good luck!!
