Lincoln-Way Central High School (Field House) (5pm – 8pm)

Girls & Boys: 4th, 5th & 6th grade – 5:00pm – 6:30pm

Girls & Boys: 7th & 8th grade – 6:30pm – 8:00pm

The South Suburban Wildcats organization was started to give girls the opportunity to play travel basketball while keeping in mind that many of them also play other sports.  We understand the need to concentrate on school, enjoy family time and realize that it is impossible to give up every weekend to basketball.  The organization was started in March of 2007, with a single team winning a 4th/5th tournament at Lincoln-Way Central.  This first championship team started the South Suburban Wildcats organization. The organization was built on the premise that all costs would be split evenly, offering an elite program at an affordable cost.  The organization is a member of the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) and participates in the top area tournaments.

During the 2011 – 2012 season the Wildcats expanded the program to include boys teams.  In the inaugural season, the Wildcats fielded boys teams at the 5th, 6th and 7th grade levels, and improved tremendously throughout the winter.  In its second year 4th and 8th grade boys teams were added, and this season the Wildcats are thrilled to add a 3rd grade boys team.

Our Fall/Winter session runs from October to February, with the girls AAU running March to July.  We practice and play home games in the surrounding Lincoln-Way area.  We seek out as many local tournaments as possible, host one of the top tournaments of the year on Super Bowl weekend, and participate in the state’s top youth tournaments.

The South Suburban Wildcats organization is a positive and respected program choice for competitive travel basketball.  We strive for the best, but realize the importance of family, school and other sports.  Our programs are restricted to girls and boys living within the Lincoln-Way District 210 residential boundaries. We have the full support of the administration and coaches of all area 210 schools.  We are proud to be a feeder program for Lincoln-Way High School District 210 and will continue to focus on the individual attention that is very important to development and understanding the game.

South Suburban Wildcats of Lincoln-Way Mission Statement

To serve the community by providing an opportunity for girls and boys to develop and enhance their skills in a competitive environment that reinforces the important values of integrity, sportsmanship, competition, leadership, respect, fairness and dedication.  We emphasize individual growth as a part of team and organization success.  The Wildcats organization trains individuals and teams using positive feedback, repetition and input from players, local coaches, high school and college age individuals with a proven track record of success to achieve team, individual and organizational goals.

The South Suburban Wildcats organization strives to develop:

  • LEADERS, who can take charge of a situation under pressure, reach a higher level through sweat, effort and sacrifice while leading the way through good example on and off the court;

  • SPORTSMANSHIP, showing enthusiasm, spirit and courage all the time, taking advice and criticism in an effort to improve, being humble and gracious both on and off the court and respecting the opponent and teammates;

  •  COMPETITORS, who possess a determination and desire to win, having pride, never giving up, hustling all the time, wanting to be # 1 and always giving maximum effort;

  • ATHLETES, being well conditioned through proper training, looking forward to every practice, working hard every play, improving individual skills to support team success, understanding the game and studying the offensive and defensive plays;

  • WILDCATS, thinking in terms of “we” instead of “I”, sacrificing for the good of the team and respecting the organization and your teammates.
