Starting IMMEDIATELY donations of pillows, toiletries, gift cards, etc. can be dropped off at the Orland Township Office, 14807 S. Orland Township will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving but will reopen to accept donations on Friday, Nov. 29 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Orland Township spoke with representatives from Washington Township who said their citizens are in desperate need of “anything you would need in a hotel room.” This includes: pillows with cases, bath towels, wash cloths, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, shampoo, body wash, hair brushes, feminine products, underwear, socks, mittens and gloves, gift cards, etc.  Visa gift cards or Wal-Mart gift cards are highly suggested. All donations must be NEW.  Worn or used clothing or toiletries will not be accepted.
Supervisor O’Grady and the Board of Trustees ask that the residents of Orland Township come together to support our neighbors in Washington Township.  In times like these, kindness is cherished and a little help can go a long way.
