Band Together in Honor of Jeannette Tarqueno, Wounded Veteran

Please join us to help raise money to make a U.S. Navy veterans recovery a success.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2791 is teaming up with area organizations including the American Veterans Motorcycle Riders Association and Salute the Armed Forces on Saturday in honor of Jeanette Tarqueno, who was injured last year while serving in the Persian Gulf.

Tarqueno was struck in the side of the head on Dec. 4, 2011, with 30 pounds of metal. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and event coordinators are hoping to raise money that will help off-set medical costs that aren't fully covered.

She will be given a full escort down Oak Park Avenue to Saturday's event, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. They include beer, food, live entertainment, door prizes and more. All proceeds will benefit the Tarqueno family.
