Lucky the Pet Pig Alerts Family to Smoky Fire
As their trailer filled with smoke, Lucky leapt into action.
MOUNT CARMEL, Illinois — A squealing pet pig named Lucky woke up his family in time to save everyone from a fire in their trailer.
A fire broke out in the trailer at 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, and the pig started screaming, jumping on the bed and hitting his owner, Ina Farler, who lives in Mount Carmel, Illinois.
"He would jump down, run to the door and then jump back up on the bed and hit me really hard. I sat up to see what was wrong with him, because he usually doesn't do that through the night. When I sat up, I realized the room was really smoky," Farler told NBC affiliate WFIE-TV.

Farler grabbed her grandchildren, and she and Lucky made for the door.
"He loves my grandkids to death," Farler said.
