Bells of St. Julie Ring in 40th Anniversary Celebration

Cardinal George will lead a special Mass on Thanksgiving Day.

St. Julie Billiart parish of Tinley Park will kick off its Fortieth Anniversary year with a celebration Mass on Thanksgiving Day with Cardinal George.  The newly constructed 60-foot bell tower will be up and the bells, with wondrous sound, will ring on the parish's special day.

“Our parish community of St. Julie Billiart has been so very blessed by God, blessings upon blessings!" said Pastor Steven Lanza. "In this 40th anniversary year, St. Julie parish is taking extra special steps to share those blessings with those less fortunate. As our patron saint, St. Julie Billiart used to exclaim constantly: 'How good is the good God!'”

Other events to celebrate the anniversary year include a gala dinner dance to be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Georgios Banquets in Orland Park.  More events will follow in the coming year.

As a way of “Giving Back” to the less fortunate in our community, St. Julie has established a “Giving Tree” for the entire year beginning in November and is on display in the narthex of the Church.  During the course of the year, there will be different tags each month on the tree depending on the current needs of our community.  The parish invites you to join them in giving back.
