Tinley Park Bell Ringer Makes TV Appearance (Updated)
Salvation Army volunteer Stephanie Porche uses her musical talent to raise money and spirits at Sam's Club during the holiday season. Watch her showcase that talent on WGN-TV.

Last year, Patch told you about Stephanie Porche, the singing bell ringer who entertains Tinley Park Sam's Club customers while raising money for The Salvation Army during the holiday season.
This year, Porche is receiving a bigger stage to showcase her musical talent when she appears Tuesday morning on WGN Morning News. The taped segment, which will air at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, will feature five Salvation Army bell ringers from the Chicago-area. They will perform, and viewers will be able to vote for their favorite by donating to the charitable organization.

A special website has been set up by the Salvation Army where people can vote for Porche, a Blue Island resident. Each dollar equals a single vote, and $5 is the minimum donation is $5. All money raised in Porche's name will go to The Salvation Army Blue Island Corps Community Center, which serves Tinley Park, said Alyse Chadwick Chung, a spokeswoman for the organization. Votes also will be taken by phone by calling 773-725-1100, she added.
The winner will be announced on WGN Morning News on Friday, Dec. 13. Porche also will continue to raise money for the Salvation Army at Sam's Club on Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park.
