The Village of Tinley Park has plenty of ways to enjoy holiday fun this weekend, and you wouldn't want to miss out because you don't know where or when. 

The fun starts Dec. 6, with the lighting of Tinley's tree in Zabrocki Plaza. Check out the schedule. Information gathered from Village of Tinley Park website. 

FRIDAY, DEC. 6

WHAT: Mayor's Tree Lighting
WHEN:
5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
WHERE:
Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave
DEETS: Village officials will light the magnificent 35-foot community tree at Zabrocki Plaza. Arrive at 5:30 p.m. for a sing-a-long to holiday music.

WHAT: Holiday Market
WHEN:
6 to 9 p.m.
WHERE: Oak Park Ave. Metra Station
DEETS: Stroll into the cozy warmth of a large-heated tent and shop for unique handmade crafts and creations. Enjoy tasty treats and live music by local groups and entertainers. Children will have fun making holiday crafts, writing letters for the soldiers and cookie decorating. Oak Park Avenue Metra Station

SATURDAY, DEC. 7

WHAT: Dollhouse and Miniatures Show
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
WHERE: Vogt Visual Arts Center, 17420 67th Ct
DEETS: During the months of December and January, the VVAC will proudly exhibit a favorite annual tradition: the Dollhouse and Miniatures Show. Come for a welcome reception for all of the talented contributors to this exhibit. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served, and there will also be a raffle for one of the beautiful handmade dollhouses. $1 per ticket and proceeds support Tinley Wish.

WHAT: Tinley's Toyland Parade
WHEN: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Viewing area at 175th Street to Zabrocki Plaza
DEETS: Tinley’s Toyland Parade celebrates the official arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Special guests will arrive at the Oak Park Avenue Train Station immediately following the conclusion of the parade. Children are encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift for persons of any age, to be donated to a local charity. A collection center will be located near the Holiday Market.

WHAT: Free Carousel Rides
WHEN: 12 to 6 p.m. 
WHERE: Oak Park Avenue Metra Station
DEETS: Children can enjoy a free ride on the NEW carousel and other attractions.

WHAT: Holiday Market
WHEN: 12 to 6 p.m. 
WHERE: Oak Park Avenue Metra Station

WHAT: Holiday Movies
WHEN: 12 to 6 p.m. 
WHERE: Old Zion Landmark Church, 6727 174th St.
DEETS: Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season and enjoy classic, family-friendly movies, popcorn and activities in Tinley Park’s historic landmark.

WHAT: Photos with Santa
WHEN: 12 to 6 p.m.
WHERE: Oak Park Ave. Metra Station
DEETS: Santa and Mrs. Claus will be inside the train station to visit with children. Receive a complimentary photo along with a gift from the North Pole. Santa’s visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to be donated to a local food pantry. Please note that no tickets to see Santa will be distributed after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

WHAT: Old Fashioned Carriage Rides
WHEN: 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. 
WHERE: OPA Metra Station
DEETS: Horse-drawn carriage rides through historic downtown Tinley Park will take you back in time.

WHAT: Live Nativity 
WHEN: 1 to 6 p.m.  
WHERE: Faith Church, 8383 W. 171st Street
DEETS: Take a 45 minute guided tour to Bethlehem, complete with live animals. Tours begin every 10 minutes. Admission is FREE and the event is wheelchair accessible. Enjoy refreshments while waiting. 

WHAT: Ice Carving Demonstration
WHEN: 2 to 3:30 p.m.
WHERE: Zabrocki Plaza
DEETS: Watch fantastic frozen sculptures being created right before your eyes.

SUNDAY, DEC. 8

WHAT: Carousel Ride
WHEN: 12 to 5 p.m.

DEETS: The Parade of Lights includes festive floats, vehicles, local businesses, community groups and school bands displaying the spirit of the season. Guests from the North Pole will be making a special appearance. This event is brought to you by the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce.
