Downtown Tinley With Five Guys Named Moe

Downtown Tinley With Classy Flowers

Downtown Tinley Park was the happening place on Saturday night!  I can’t tell you how many people came out for Music In The Park, but it seemed massive!  The band was Five Guys Named Moe and it’s quite apparent they have a great following.  The weather had just turned within a couple of hours prior to a nice breezy & somewhat cooler end of the day.

We are on a committee, the “Tinley Park MainStreet Commission” for the betterment of downtown local businesses in Tinley.  So a couple months ago I volunteered my husband Dennis & I to be a part of the second Music In The Park by making sure things were in place & set to go before the people arrived to enjoy the music.   It’s amazing that in such a short time the amounts of people that arrived to enjoy the festivities.   Because we are a part of helping bring business to downtown local businesses, we wore our Classy Flowers shirts that we have always worn to different things so people could truly identify our local business and that we were a part of wanting to make downtown Tinley, “The Place” to shop!

The music was set to start at 7pm so my husband & I were the announcers for the event so we went up on stage and announced all the sponsors and who all the venders that were there.   Then we got the privilage of introducing Five Guys Named Moe to the crowd.  It was amazing getting the view of what it’s like to be on the stage looking out at all the people.  So, moving on to our next job, we went to our table up in the front area where we were collecting emails for all that wanted to give.

Why were we collecting emails for Downtown Tinley?  Because Tinley Park is about to launch a new marketing campaign to help local businesses and since our flower shop is centrally located right in downtown Tinley Park, we became a part of the marketing team to help build strong relationships of all the great and new things coming to our downtown area.  It’s been a process,  but it will be so worth all the hard work and efforts that so many people have put in to it.  So Dennis stayed at the table with a Tablet collecting emails and I went out and worked the crowd.  It was so enlightening to have so many people give us compliments and how many of our own customers were there enjoying the music.  I even had one couple tell me how much they enjoy The Patch and my blogs.  I actually had a different story I was writing about but I decided to write this story and share my pictures first.  I also learned that Tinley Park has a new author that just got his book published.  So if anyone wants to share the information as to the name of the book and the author, please feel free and comment below.

I know I always write about flowers and try to give all that enjoy knowledge about our industry.  I LOVE being a Floral Designer and a business owner, but thought this blog should be about what’s coming up in our downtown Tinley Park.  Please support all your local businesses, we all so appreciate it!
