TPHS Boys Swim Team Take First Place at Evergreen Invite

First Place Finish By Tinley Park Boys Swim!

The Boys swim team took first place honors Saturday at the Evergreen Park Invite.

The boys competed Jan. 21 against nine other high schools. finished with 260 points, followed by: University High School-194, Bradley Bourbonnais-170, Reavis -156, Richards-155, Evergreen Park-112, Lemont-99, Mt Carmel-62 and St. Rita with 58 points.

Tyler Bettenhausen had a fourth place finish in the 100 free (56.10). Zach Crum finished with a fourth place finish in the 100 Butterfly (1:02.50). Sean Doody finished in fourth place in the 200 Free (2:08.97). Nick Frangella finished in fourth place in the 200 IM (2:25.73).

Andrew Griffin placed first in the 200 free (1:56.96) and 500 free (5:15.45).  Kevin Hesse took first in the 100 Backstroke (59.63) and second place in the 500 free (5:33.84). Doug Meng finished second in the 50 free (23.68). Dan Shaunnessey placed first in the 50 free (22.48) and 100 free (49.98).

Kevin Hesse, Adam Sumner, Doug Meng and Vince Meng took first place in the 200 Medley Relay (1:48.71), Andrew Griffin, Vince Meng, Nick Frangella and Dan Shaunnessey took first place in the 200 Free Relay (1:37.77) and the winning 400 free relay team consisted of Andrew Griffin, Vince Meng, Kevin Hesse and Dan Shaunnessey with a time of 3:38.65.
