Names in the News: People to Watch in Tinley Park

Bridget Nolan

Special education administrator Bridget Nolan is among the newest faces in Summit Hill School District 161. "I liked the opportunity of really being involved with the education of students with special needs," Nolan said, adding that working in the district is a bit of a homecoming having taught in . Nolan has worked in Plainfield for 10 years. In her time there, she's been the director of extended school (2006-present) an the assistive technology specialist (2002-08). Nolan also was a special needs teacher in Kirby School District 140 (1999-2002). Let's welcome her with open arms.

Valerie Chudy

Area resident Valerie Chudy was named this year of the “Theodore Reimer Volunteer of the Year." Valerie was honored for her work with several TWC fundraisers throughout the year. She and her brother, Gil Hannon, also organize the annual summertime Race Around the World Duathlon that benefits Together We Cope. “We could not operate Together We Cope without the combined wisdom and hard work that our volunteers bring to this agency,” said Kathryn Straniero, executive director of TWC said in reference to volunteerism like that of Chudy's.
