St. Julie Billiart Mourns Passing of Beloved Priest

A Tinley Park parish is grieving the passing of a beloved member of its clergy.

Parishioners at St. Julie Billiart in Tinley Park will pay respects this week to their beloved priest Reverend Patrick J. Brennan.

"Father Pat Brennan was a brilliant homilist," said Pastor Fr. Steve Lanza.  He authored over 20 books on various topics pertaining to faith formation and evangelization. He touched many, many people with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The parish community of St. Julie Billiart will miss him greatly."

Assignments included Associate Pastor St. Hubert in Hoffman Estates, St. Albert the Great in Burbank, St. Michael in Orland Park, St. Julie Billiart in Tinley Park. Pastor of Holy Family Parish, Inverness. Sacramental Minister, St. Thomas the Apostle, Naperville. Director of Mission Integration and Pastoral Care, The Clare at Water Tower and Host of Horizons Radio Ministry. Director for Office for Catholic Evangelization, Director of Development, Mayslake Ministries.

Fr. Brennan will be lying in state from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at St. Julie Billiart, 7399 W. 159th St. A wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Big Shoulders Fund, c/o Msgr. Velo, 212 W. Van Buren, Suite 900 in Chicago, or the Brennan Center for Lifelong Learning, care of Holy Family Parish, 2515 W. Palatine Road, Inverness would be appreciated.
