D230 and Buses

I would like to share that i think D230 has done a TERRIBLE job with the buses and notifying parents. 2 days in a row the bus has not shown up to pick my child up for school.  When i called the school this morning to ask what was going on and that my son's bus to this point has not shown up.  Mind you at this point my son's bus is 40 mins late and now my son is late for school.  I was told by Andrew attendance that sorry there was nothing they could do, they asked what bus route he was on i told them, they said yes it's running late, i expressed my concerns all they did was say we are sorry we understand your concern and would i like to speak to the bus company.  Ok NOW andrew / D230 can send out alerts for EVERY little thing  but cannot send out an alert stating buses are running very late or there will be NO BUSES, to be able to make arrangements for their children to get to school.  Nope we received zip.  As i pull in front of Andrew to drop my son off there is buses just sitting there??? Why are these buses not going to other routes? Why were the parents NOT notified.  What about the parents who work downtown or work 30 mins or longer from home.  what do these parents do then.  My child was standing outside for over 20 mins in the 0 degree weather.  HOW is this safe for our children.  Something needs to be done with a better warning or alert system for our children. The bus company needs to communicate with the school better or vice versa.   This is NOT the first time this has happened my son is a sophomore at Andrew this year and there has been several occasions that i have received a call from my son that the bus did not pick him up.  So i have had to leave work to go take him to school. (THANKFULLY i work close to home, but what about the parents that do not?) Mind you this was NOT during the winter months.  Where does the money i shell out for his "school fees" every year? Where does my taxes go for the school district that keep rising?
