Orland Township's "Senior American Idol"

“Senior American Idol” is right around the corner and tickets are still available for $25, with proceeds to benefit the Orland Township Scholarship Foundation! All ages are welcome.

 It’s going to be a fantastic evening. Kevin Grace of HGTV’s Design Star show will serve as MC and we’ve got quite the impressive line-up of judges, including two American Idol contestants: Gina Glocksen, who finished in ninth place on Season 6 and Kyle Dee from Season 11, as well as radio personality Rich Renik of WCCQ, talent agency owner Don Underwood and local entertainers Mr. and Mrs. “O”. Both of our American Idol friends will be singing a song for the audience’s enjoyment!

As some of you may know, we held tryouts back in February, and 16 very talented seniors were selected to compete at the event on Thursday, May 9 at Georgios Banquets, 8800 W. 159th Street. Prior to the singing competition on this evening, attendees will enjoy a cocktail hour beginning at 5 p.m., followed by a delicious dinner.

This will be a big night for the scholarship foundation and for our seniors, who I can’t commend enough for their bravery in auditioning and performing for this occasion. Our young scholars are going to benefit greatly, and those who join us for the evening will not be disappointed with the entertainment. It’s certainly going to be a night to remember.
