1 Hospitalized After Monday Morning Fire

A Tinley Park fire official said a woman was hospitalized when a blaze burned a home in the 8100 block of Piute Trail Monday morning.

The cause of an early morning fire in the 8100 block of Piute Trail remains under investigation, a Tinley Park fire official said Monday.

One woman who lives at the home was taken to a hospital after firefighters were called at about 4:30 a.m. Her condition late Monday morning was unknown.

The fire burned much of the house's first floor, said Tinley Park Fire Capt. Dan Riordan. A damage estimate wasn't available.

Firefighters believe only one person was home when the fire started. An older couple lives in the house.

A state fire investigator was on scene Monday.
