$34,000 SUV Stolen From Dealer Lot: Blotter

Tinley Park police reports, May 10-15 • Car window smashed, purse taken • Car burglar unsuccessful • Wedding cake pool ladder stolen • Gym bag snatched.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 15

Smash & Purse Grab

A window on a car was smashed out in the 16000 bloc of Harlem Avenue, according to a report. The car was in the parking lot near a gym, and a purse that contained ID cards, gift cards, credit cards and about $100 cash was taken, the report stated.

No arrests were reported.

Pool Accessories Go Missing

A chlorine cartridge system and a set of plastic pool stairs in the shape of a wedding cake were reported stolen from a backyard pool in the 7400 block of Ridgeland Lane, according to police. The owner suspects “kids” took the pool accessories, which combined are valued at about $400, the report stated.

Attempted Burglary Of Car Stereo

Someone tried to steal the Pioneer stereo from a car parked in the lot of a gym in the 17500 block of Duvan Drive, according to a report. A car door was left unlocked, and a witness told police he saw a man with a chrome crowbar duck behind the car but eventually leave.

Car Stolen From Dealer

A 2013 gray Dodge Durango SXT-AWD with less than 600 miles on the odometer was reported stolen from a car lot in the 8400 block of 159th Street, according to a report.

The SUV was last seen at about 9:30 a.m. on May 14, but no one noticed it missing until May 15, the report stated. It is valued at $34,000.

FRIDAY, MAY 10

Gym Bag Snatched

Three different prescriptions, gift cards and other items were in a gym bag that wa stolen from a car parked in the 8100 block of 160th Street, according to a report. The car was left unlocked overnight.
