A Hand in the Till at an Orland Park Business Gets Slapped

Tinley Park woman sentenced to seven years in prison for her admitted thievery.

A Tinley Park woman who pleaded guilty to ripping off her employer, stealing more than $770,000, was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in prison.

Rita Schinske, 57, was a 10-year-employee of Occupational and Hand Therapy in Orland Park, where as office manager she wrote herself more than 600 checks over severn years, depositing them into her own bank account, reports Sun-Times Media.

The clinic's owners discovered her thievery after an audit was done on the company's books. She was arrested in January 2012.
