Golf Clubhead Clepto

Police were called to Dick's Sporting Goods, 7370 191st Street, after a store employee reported the theft of a golf club head, worth approximately $300.

An employee told police that the theft occurred around 12:30 p.m. and that there was video of the suspect taking the club head.

Police and the employee reviewed the tape, which showed a white male, between 5-feet, 8-inches and 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with dark hair and a bald spot, enter the golf section of the store. The man spoke with a store employee before removing a golf club from a bag, taking a tool from his pocket, and removing the club head.

The man then placed the headless golf shaft in a child's golf bag and left the store.

The store employee told police that a similar crime took place at the Orland Park location, with the thief making off with nearly $1,000 worth of club heads.
