Armed Man Robs Family Outside Chuck E. Cheese

A man with a box cutter demanded cash Saturday outside of the family restaurant.

A man out with his family at Chuck E. Cheese found himself face-to-face with an armed robber over the weekend.

No one was injured when a man armed with a box cutter demanded cash from the family at about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday as they left the restaurant, located at 16090 S. Harlem Ave., Tinley Park police said.

The victim, who was with his wife and daughter, handed over cash, police said. The robber then took off on foot and ran behind the nearby Old County Buffet restaurant before disappearing.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. The incident remains under investigation.

The robber is described as a 30-year-old white male who stands 6-foot, 1-inch tall, has a medium build and short, light brown hair. He was unshaven and wore a black hoodie with black pants.
