Aurora Man Accused of Traveling to Tinley to Have Sex With a Minor
Local police arrested an out-of-towner Tuesday who they said came to Tinley Park with the intention of having sex with a teenage girl.
said they arrested a man this past week who drove to from Aurora, hoping to have sex with a teenage girl.
The Sun-Times Media reported Wednesday that Michael J. Zimmerman, 27, instead found himself under arrest. The Aurora man thought he'd been chatting on the Internet with the girl when he'd really been corresponding with local investigators, according to the story.
Zimmerman, who faces one count of traveling to meet a minor, remained custody at the Will County Jail on Thursday morning on $50,000 bail. That means he'd have to post 10 percent, or $5,000 in order to be released. The charge is a Class 3 felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
