Beauty School Brawl: Two Women Ticketed for Fighting

Two women were seen fighting in the parking lot of Regency Beauty School in Tinley Park after an earlier verbal altercation.

Two women were ticketed for fighting in public after witnesses saw a scuffle in the parking lot of a Tinley Park beauty school.

After having an argument on Aug. 5, Shontae R. Bennett, 20, of the 14400 block of S. Kimbark Ave. in  Dolton, and Malissa M. Smith, 28, of the 10200 block of S. Sagamon Street in Chicago, were at it again on Wednesday, Aug. 10. This time though, not only did words fly between the two, but fists did as well, according to a police report.

Bennett and Smith were seen fighting by several witnesses around 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Regency Beauty School, 15931 S. Harlem Ave.

According to the police report, Smith was on top of Bennett, pulling her hair and shoving her face into the ground. Though both women suffered injuries during the altercation, both refused medical treatment, police said.

Witness accounts for how the fight began varied, so both women were issued tickets for fighting in public. They are scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 16 at the Bridgeview courthouse.
