Bikes Stolen From Train Stations; Wrist Watch Missing From Microwave

TUESDAY, NOV. 15

Bike Stolen from 80th Avenue Metra Station

Police said someone cut a cable lock to snag a bicycle from the 80th Avenue Metra Station, 18001 80th Ave. in . The bike cable and lock were left on the ground at the rack where the bike once was. The victim said he believed his ride was stolen between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Slashed Tires

A man living in the 17300 block of Ottawa Avenue in said that sometime between 10 p.m. Nov. 10 and 6:40 a.m. Nov. 14, someone slashed the passenger side and rear tire of two vehicles that were parked in his driveway. One was a 2007 Ford and the other was a 1982 Mercedes Benz, according to the police report. 

Bike Stolen from Downtown Metra Station

A man called around 4:30 p.m. when he realized his bicycle had been stolen from the Metra train station, 6700 W. South St. in . He said that he last saw his bike at 7 a.m. Thursday, when he locked it up at the bike rack. He returned to retrieve it on Monday and the bicycle and its lock were nowhere to be found. "The complainant informed the (officer) that he did not immediately return to his bicycle because at times, he rides his bicycle to the train lot but needs to take a (company) vehicle home," the report said.

SATURDAY, NOV. 12

Wrist Watch Missing From Microwave

A woman living in the 17200 block of South 66th Court in  called police to report that sometime between midnight on Nov. 11 and midnight on Nov. 12, someone stole a watch from her apartment. She last saw the watch on top of the microwave in the kitchen, she said. She said her roommate lets several people into the apartment often to "deliver him alcohol," the report said. She suspects one of them took her watch.

Assisting Other Police

The Major Crime Task Force was called to assist the Chicago Heights Police Department around 3:15 a.m., when suspects wanted for homicide were barricaded in a residence in the 200 block of West 14 Place in Chicago Heights. The South Suburban Emergency Response Team (SSERT) of which Tinley police are a part helped create a perimeter around the residence. They were there between 5 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., according to the report. The suspects eventually exited.

THURSDAY, NOV. 10

Identity Theft

Jamie L. Olson, 20, of the 9100 block of Letterkenny Drive in Tinley Park, was charged with identity theft and forgery. Police said she stole four checks from a New Lenox resident and cashed them for $120 total. She was taken to Will County Jail and later released on bond.
