Blotter: Employee Sells Smokes to Underage Teen; E-mailer Impersonates Cheerleading Coach

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 29

Wallet Left on Gas Pump

A woman called the cops around 10:20 p.m., after someone stole her wallet, which she left on a gas pump at 7-Eleven, 16658 South Oak Park Ave., She said that when she was pumping gas there around 9:30 p.m., she placed the wallet on top of the pump and then drove away without it. She returned about an hour later and it was gone. Two unauthorized purchases were made using one of her credit cards, the report said.

E-mailer Impersonates Cheerleading Coach

The coach of an area junior cheerleading team went to the around 10:40 a.m. to report that someone was trying to impersonate her via e-mail. Two parents of cheerleaders on her team got an e-mail from an address that was just one letter off from the coach's, she told officers. The note said that she "didn't have room" for their kids on the team and that it was a "tough decision." The coach said she didn't send the e-mail and made an incident report. 

Employee Sells Smokes to Underage Teen

issued an ordinance violation to a local convenience store employee who reportedly sold cigarettes to a teenager who wasn't 18 years old. Officers said they were working undercover with the teen who agreed to go into Circle K, 8401 W. 159th St., Tinley Park, around 7:50 p.m. to buy a pack of Newport cigarettes. They said Jamil G. Magee, 33, of Markham, sold the smokes. He was issued a local ordinance violation for doing so.

MONDAY, FEB. 27

Warrant Arrest

Trishiana T. Williams, 24, of the 1400 block of Arthur Avenue in Joliet, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. in the 18000 block of 80th Avenue in Tinley Park, on a warrant out of Will County. Police said they came across Williams at the 80th Avenue Train Station, where someone said she was smoking indoors. She told officers she had not been, according to the report.
