Jewelry Thief Grabs Gold

After a local woman got home and noticed her closet doors slightly opened, she investigated and found that two wedding bands, a necklace, a bracelet, a locket and a watch — all made of gold — were missing from her residence. The home in the 6400 block of 166th Street in was not in disarray, police said. The woman said she believed the items were stolen between 12:15 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Flailing Drunk Claws Husband's Eyes

were called around 8:15 p.m. to the 7100 block of West 166th Street in Tinley for a woman who was battering her husband. The woman was intoxicated, according to the report, and had punched her husband of one year in the face. "(She) then used her fingernails to scratch at (his) eyes," the report said. The woman was combative with officers and even tried to kick the windows out of the squad car. She was charged with domestic battery.

Wisconsin Woman Faces Theft Charge

A Wisconsin woman was charged around 4 p.m. with retail theft after police pulled her over near the intersection of 191st Street and Harlem Avenue, where they found about $600 worth of stolen merchandise in her car, the report said. Devondra I. Bass, 20, of the 2900 block of Todd Drive in Madison, had two female juveniles in the car, according to the report. The merchandise was reportedly taken from Super Target, 7300 W. 191st St., Tinley Park, and a couple of other local stores.
