Blotter: Possession of Pot, Man Fears Wiper Blades Signal Impending Doom, and More

SUNDAY, FEB. 5

Assault Warrant

Police arrested Antonio P. Frasano, 63, of the 16900 block of New England Avenue in , around 3 a.m. at his home on a warrant for assault out of Palos Heights. They came across Frasano while investigating a civil complaint in his building, they said. 

Wallet Waiting

A resident's wallet is safe and sound at the after it was turned in around 1:30 p.m. The person who gave police the wallet said it was found at Dollar Tree, 16199 Harlem Ave. It contains various forms of identification and a debit card. If you believe it's yours, visit the station and be ready to describe it.

SATURDAY, FEB. 4

A Trombone and Two Clarinets Vanish 

A woman reported around 11:50 a.m. that on Jan. 10, she brought her son's trombone to the band room at Southwest Chicago Christian Academy, 17171 S. 84th Ave., Tinley Park. On Jan. 13, her son went looking for the trombone in the band room, where it's stored during the week, and couldn't find it. Also missing were two clarinets, the band director said.

Warrant for Theft

Daniel L. Darr, 41, of the 2300 block of Sheffield Drive in Anderson, Ind., was arrested around 12:30 p.m. at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive, on a warrant for retail theft out of Ogle County. Darr approached police at the convention center to make a report, they said, and officers learned of the active warrant while taking his name and information. His bail was set at $1,500.

Tools Snagged From Utility Van

A local man said that sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m., someone stole about $450 worth of tools from his locked 2008 Chevrolet van. He said the theft occurred while he was in Portillo's, 15900 Harlem Ave., and that when he got back to his vehicle, the side door lock had been drilled out. Missing was a saw with a metal case and a right angle drill.

Possession of Pot

Darren J. Wroblewski, 33, of the 6500 block of Hubbard Lane in Tinley Park, was arrested around 2:10 p.m. near the intersection of Chelsea Lane and Oxford Drive in Tinley Park and charged with possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they found Wroblewski with a jar that contained two bags of weed, which weighed out to 1.7 grams. They also found a glass pipe in a tool box inside his vehicle, they said. 

Patrol Officer Spots Graffiti

While patrolling Brookside Glen Drive in Tinley Park around 4:40 p.m., an officer found pink graffiti on a landscaping rock, according to the report. The rock, on the southeast side of a bridge in the area, was painted with the letters "LVK" and the word "SEEK." More graffiti found on the bridge said "DOPE," "DTF" and "ZOL1," in black paint. 

FRIDAY, FEB. 3 

Thief Charges More than $1,000

A local woman reported that sometime between Nov. 15, 2011 and Feb. 3, 2012, someone made six purchases using her MasterCard. The transactions were linked to Florida and Texas, according to the report, and totaled $1,122.93. The woman said she had her card in her possession and hasn't been to Florida in seven years. She didn't know how someone got her number. 

Man Turns in Ammo

A Joliet man turned in seven boxes of 12-gauge and one box of 16-gauge ammunition at the for destruction. The boxes were inventoried around 2:30 p.m.

THURSDAY, FEB. 2 

Man Fears Wiper Blades Signal Impending Doom

A local man called police to report that between 11 p.m. Feb. 1 and 6:30 a.m. Feb. 2, someone trespassed on his property to "tamper with his vehicles," according to the report.

The cars were parked in a driveway on South Locust Avenue in Tinley. The owner said someone raised the windshield wipers on three cars and placed a barbecue grill lid behind one of them. One of the vehicle's windshields had a crack in it, according to the report, but police said it may not have been caused by a vandal.

The man told police he was concerned with gang activity and those who hang around his 17-year-old son. He said the "wipers pointing upwards may be a warning that the family will be going to heaven soon," the report said. The man reported similar activity and vehicle damage earlier in the week.

TUESDAY, JAN. 31 

Warrant Arrest

Ranzi Michell, 31, of the 800 block of Highland Avenue in Thornton, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. at the Cook County Sheriff's Office, 16501 S. Kedzie Ave. in Markham, on one warrant for theft and one warrant for theft by deception out of Tinley Park. His bail was set at $30,000.

SUNDAY, JAN. 29

Missing License Plate

A man reported that sometime between 9 a.m. Jan. 28 and 6 p.m. Jan. 29, someone stole the rear license plate from his 2003 Acura. The theft may have occurred in the 7400 block of West 160th Place in Tinley Park, police noted.
