Tax Fraud

A local woman called when her tax preparer notified her that he couldn't file her taxes because her Social Security number had already been used for a tax filing through the IRS. The victim doesn't know when the activity occurred, but has notified the IRS and the Social Security Administration, according to the report.

Wallet Stolen at Sports Station

said an employee at Sports Station, 7060 W 171st St., , called them to report that between 10 a.m. and noon, someone stole her wallet from behind the register. Surveillance cameras caught the suspect on tape and officers were investigating. 

Battery After a Fight Outside Hollstein's

arrested Earl T. Macklin, 25, of the 22800 block of Greenfields Boulevard in Richton Park and Jeremy S. Macklin, 21, of the first block of Franklin Street in Washington, D.C., around 1:45 a.m. near J.W. Hollstein's saloon on Oak Park Avenue in . They said Earl Macklin was fighting in the parking lot outside the bar and pushed two women to the ground.

Jeremy Macklin reportedly drove away from an officer and hit his arm with the sideview mirror on his vehicle. Earl Macklin was charged with two counts of battery and Jeremy Macklin, battery to a police officer. Bail for each was set at $1,500, the report said.
