Woman Steals Baby Formula

Police were called to a local grocery store where a repeat offender successfully made off around 2 p.m. with four containers of baby formula.

The loss prevention officer at Jewel, 17117 S. Harlem Ave., Tinley Park, said the same customer had stolen before from the store. He provided surveillance footage of all incidents and gave officers a receipt totaling up the losses—$158.72.

The woman has already been accused of stealing from a Jewel in Chicago Heights, the officer said. Police tracked down that arrest and matched the woman's mug shot with the person on the surveillance tapes. They said the two were the same and they were working Thursday to track her down. No charges had yet been filed. 

Warrant Arrest

Rachel P. Jenkins, 33, of the 400 block of North Third Avenue in Maywood, was arrested at the Cook County Courthouse, 10220 S. 76th Ave., Bridgeview, on a warrant for driving with a suspended license out of the . her bail was set at $25,000.

MONDAY, FEB. 27

Burglar Swipes Class Ring

A 17-year-old's Andrew High School class ring was snagged from his nightstand sometime between midnight Feb. 26 and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27, police said. The only person besides family members in the home at the time of the theft was a handyman who replaced windows in the home. The engraved ring has a red stone in it and is valued at $506.
