Cadillac Driver With 13 Guns Busted for Pot Possession: Blotter

Tinley Park police reports, June 17-21 • Pair of gold earrings reported stolen from home.

William V. Carrig, 26, of the 6600 block of 175th Street in Tinley Park, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a report. Carrig was driving a white Cadillac at about 10:24 p.m. on 76th Avenue near 165th Street when an officer spotted him fail to use a turn signal. A check of the car's registration showed it had expired.

The officer who stopped Carrig allegedly smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the Cadillac, the report states. The driver told police he had "a hitter" in the center console. When asked if he also had guns, Carrig reportedly said, "Yes, quite a few."

Police found a glass pipe and plastic bag with marijuana under the driver's seat, according to the report. The driver, who has an active Firearm Owner Identification (FOID) card, also had 13 guns in the trunk, each of which came back clean after a check. He is due on Sept. 6 in Bridgeview court.

Earring Theft


A pair of gold earrings were reported stolen from a home in the 6800 block of 173rd Place, according to a report. The owner last saw them June 15. No arrests were reported.
