Call For Water Rescue was False Alarm

The Tinley Park Fire Department was called about a possible water rescue, but no one was found and it was considered a false alarm.

Several Tinley Park firefighters were prepared for a water rescue around midnight Monday morning, but the call was considered a false alarm.

The Tinley Park Fire Department was called about possible noises heard around a pond just south of 175th Street near Sandalwood Drive, Tinley Park Fire Lt. Kenneth Roemer said at the scene. For about 90 minutes, a water rescue team scoured the pond, while crews ready to receive anyone pulled out of the water were positioned at three different spots around the pond.

Along with the firefighters, EMTs from Trace Ambulance were on scene. Around 1:30 a.m. the boat was pulled out, and firefighters and EMTs returned to their posts.
