Car Reported Stolen to Get Someone's Attention: Blotter

Tinley Park police reports, April 10-13 • Midlothian man charged with marijuana possession • Hobby paint stolen • Camara taken after car break-in.

That'll Get His Attention

Police found a 1992 Cadillac El Dorado that had been reported stolen from Chicago in a parking lot at Odyssey Fun World, 19111 S. Oak Park Ave., according to a report.

The registered owner told Tinley Park police he sold it to a friend, but the registration had not yet transferred. The car had started to accumulate parking tickets, which were being sent to the previous owner, the report stated.

He reported it stolen in the hope that the new owner would change the registration, the report added.

FRIDAY, APRIL 12

Marijuana Possession Charge

Scott M. Tuttle, 20, of the 3900 block of 147th Place in Midlothian, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a report.

Tuttle was a passenger in a Dodge Intrepid that was stopped at about 6:50 p.m., near the intersection of 183rd Street and Ridgeland Avenue after an officer noticed the rear registration plate light was out, the report stated. Police reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.

When asked about contraband, Tuttle removed two plastic bags from his waistband, the report stated. He also told police he threw rolling papers on the floorboard when the car was stopped.

He is due in Bridgeview court in May 10.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10

Camera Taken in Car Break-In

A Canon camera and charger were reported stolen from a 2012 Chevrolet parked in the 7900 block of West 163rd Court. The owner told police she locked the car doors, but officers could not find evidence of forced entry, the report stated.

Hobby Paint Stolen

About 50-75 tubes of hobby paint were taken from Hobby Lobby, 7061 W. 159th St., according to a report. The store manager estimated the value of the loss to be between $1,000 and $1,400.
